Despite calls from the European Parliament to stop the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, the project is subject to national law so the European Commission cannot stop construction of the pipeline as long as Gas Directive complies, DG Energy Director General Ditte Juul Jorgensen said.
