Commission pledges €300 million boost to Gavi

The European Commission pledged on Thursday during the Global Vaccine Summit, a €300 million boost to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, for the period 2021–2025.

The funds will be disbursed from the bloc’s long budget, namely the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2021-2027 and will help immunise 300 million children worldwide, as well as finance vaccine stockpiles for emergency use.
