Finland faces a decline in its population by 2031, according to the Statistics Finland latest projection published on Monday.
The national statistical service projection suggests that if the birth rate remains at the current level there will be no region in Finland where births exceed deaths in 15 years. The population will start decreasing in 2031 and will be 100,000 lower than today by 2050.
