MEPs slam EU food companies over caged confinement of animals abroad

In a strongly-worded letter released on May 15, members of the European Parliament called on food companies to end the caged confinement of animals in their global supply chains. The letter was circulated by the international non-profit Lever Foundation and the Polish NGO Green REV Institute and was signed by members of the European Parliament from Germany, France, Poland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Italy, Denmark, Portugal and Austria
