Russia bars entry for more EU officials in response to Navalny sanctions

In response to the European Union’s “unacceptable” sanctions over the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Russia announced on Tuesday it is expanding the list of EU officials banned from entering the country. 

“The Russian side, acting on the basis of reciprocity, has decided to expand the list of representatives of EU Member States and institutions who will be denied entry to the Russian Federation,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
