Current figures on the corona virus

Vienna (OTS) – To date, there have been 4,334,212 positive test results in Austria. As of today (June 20, 9:30 a.m.), 18,732 people with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died and 4,254,136 have recovered Austria-wide. Currently, 587 people infected with the corona virus are receiving hospital care. Of these, 36 are being cared for in intensive care units.

New infections in the provinces since yesterday’s announcement:

Burgenland: 199
Carinthia: 225
Lower Austria: 1,041
Upper Austria: 389
Salzburg: 301
Styria: 338
Tyrol: 329
Vorarlberg: 212
Vienna: 1,899

The Ministry of Health’s dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at “covid19-dashboard.ages.at.” The dashboard obtains its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Monitoring Register (EMS). The EMS is the official register in which data is entered by the district authorities as well as by laboratories. The Federal Ministry of the Interior collects the figures as part of the coordination of State Crisis and Disaster Management via daily registrations from the provinces. These figures may include cases not yet recorded in the EMS.
