The last upper floor has been erected and the roof construction will soon be completed. After only 12 months of intensive construction activity, an invitation was extended to the topping-out ceremony at the construction site in Liesing.
Vienna (OTS) – In May 2021, demolition of the aging building was started. In late autumn, the foundation stone was laid and on 22.6.2021, the management, Mag. Robert Oberndorfer, MBA, and the board of directors of the foundation, Sr. Susanne Krendelsberger CS, invited the architectural office Kratschmann, construction management Bauwert and the employees of Haider & Co to the CS Kalksburg construction site for the topping-out ceremony as a thank you.

“I am delighted that the work on our new home has progressed so well and that everything has gone so well so far – thanks to your professional work – and I hope that we will continue to be on schedule. Our residents and employees in the alternative quarters are already looking forward to the modern care center, which will make it possible for them to live a well-cared-for life here,” said Sr. Susanne Krendelsberger CS, Chairman of the Foundation.
“Living with more possibility to retreat in one’s own area, larger apartment solutions, hospice care oasis for people with dementia, day center for Senior:innen and a dementia day center and residential communities for people with dementia – in the new CS Kalksburg there are multiple offers to choose from for the different needs of very old people who live a good life with support. I am already looking forward to the opening of what will probably be Vienna’s most modern care center in Kalksburg in the summer of 2023,” says Mag. In summer/fall 2023, more space will be available for people with support needs at the traditional location of CS Caritas Socialis in Mackgasse/ Breitenfurterstraße/Gräfin Zichygasse. More space paired with concentrated hospice competence through CS Hospice Vienna. Cared-for life with support needs in the new CS Kalksburg.
No CO2 emissions in the new CS Kalksburg through heating
The new photovoltaic system on the roof of CS Kalksburg and the energy concept guarantee 0% emissions of CO2 emissions. With the current system, it is possible to run the nursing home self-sufficiently for 50 days, an emergency measure that benefits the climate. Concepts are also being developed in the circular economy to reduce or recycle material consumption.

CS Caritas Socialis was founded in 1919 by Hildegard Burjan as a spiritual community of sisters with the mission of alleviating social need.
