What is urgently needed now for better medical care in Austria
Vienna (OTS) – More than 30,000 people a year die of cardiovascular diseases in Austria. This makes it the number one cause of death in the country. The main cause is elevated LDL cholesterol.
For the first time, a recent IHS study revealed the full extent of this “silent epidemic”. Around 1 million Austrians belong to the risk group due to LDL cholesterol. More than 8% of all deaths in Austria could be avoided by reaching the LDL cholesterol target values!
What steps should be taken urgently to improve the situation? What is the role of modern medicine for patients? What should be done to optimize the care of cardiovascular patients?
