According to a United Nations (UN) study, households now account for 20 percent of global CO2 emissions. In her keynote at IFA 2022, Gwenaelle Avice-Huet, Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, will outline how smart home technologies and energy savings can help reduce CO2 emissions and be part of the solution for a climate-friendly world.
According to a 2021 study commissioned by SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, more than half of consumers aim to reduce their CO2 consumption in the home to net zero. In times of rising energy prices, this is a desirable goal from both a sustainable and financial perspective. Energy and cost efficiency in their own homes is therefore a top priority for many people worldwide.
For an efficient home
“By combining digitalization and energy, Schneider Electric gives consumers the opportunity to make their homes more efficient, sustainable, connected and personalized while maintaining their comfort,” explains Gwenaelle Avice-Huet. “In the home of the future, for which we are developing innovations, smart energy management is central. In this way, we want to make sustainability accessible to all and further decarbonize our planet.”
In her keynote address, titled “Smart Home is the Smart Option for a Sustainable Future,” Avice-Huet, who was named a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum in 2018 and awarded the French Order of Merit in 2019, will discuss the impact of our daily lives, mindsets and consumer behavior on global climate change. She will also explain how to ensure that everyone in society can benefit from smart home energy technologies and enjoy a more sustainable home.
Visitors to IFA 2022 can then also experience SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC’s smart developments at the company’s booth in Hall 5.2a | 123.
