On August 27, CATL and ZEEKR jointly announced that ZEEKR is the first car brand to be powered by mass-produced Qilin batteries. ZEEKR 009 will be the world’s first car with Qilin inside, and ZEEKR 001 will be the world’s first model equipped with 1,000 km range Qilin batteries. The two companies have formed a five-year strategic partnership and agreed to strengthen the interaction between supply and demand on the basis of intensive cooperation to promote the technological progress of the new energy industry.
The Qilin batteries are based on CATL’s third-generation CTP technology. With a record-breaking volume utilization efficiency of 72% and an energy density of up to 255 Wh/kg, it achieves the highest system integration level in the world to date and can provide a range of over 1,000 km. By using the breakthrough large-area cell cooling technology, Qilin also supports hot start in 5 minutes and fast charge in 10 minutes. With the same chemical system and pack size, it can deliver 13% more power than the 4680 battery, providing comprehensive improvement in range, fast charging, safety, durability, efficiency and low temperature performance.
With market demand and user experience in mind, Qilin batteries, supported by the open and leading Sustainable Experience Architecture (SAE), can fully realize their energy efficiency and provide a perfect solution for pure electric driving. Models with Qilin inside free customers from worrying about EV battery range, charging and safety, and allow them to enjoy a comfortable driving experience.
