The Francisco Josephinum received LH-Stv. Stephan Pernkopf, Auma Obama and Doris Schmidauer to present the intercultural agricultural program.
Education overcomes poverty: In a four-week training course in August and September 2022, 15 farmers from the Dr. Auma Obama Foundation Sauti Kuu from Kenya will be trained in food technology, food processing and preservation at the Federal College and Research Institute Francisco Josephinum (FJ) in Wieselburg at the invitation of Oikocredit Austria. The curriculum takes into account cultural, regional as well as ecological necessities in order to meet the requirements of the participants’ living conditions. The aim is to secure higher yields for their products through knowledge transfer and thus support food security on the Kenyan market. The Chamber of Agriculture of Lower Austria and the Rural Youth of Lower Austria contribute to the program.
