Hintertux (OTS) – Once again this year, East Tyrol’s top chefs, flanked by renowned guest chefs from all over Austria and South Tyrol, will present their summer creations on Lienz’s main square. For seven weeks, they serve excellent dishes made from regional products from the pleasure pavilions, thus combining regionality with refined culinary compositions.
The objective of the unique project “Culinary Summer Freshness”, which was developed together with the Lienz city marketing, is to present the region and its excellent products and services at the highest level. Osttirol de luxe focuses on and strengthens the importance of authentic, regional products and ingredients and sees itself as a trendsetter and platform for a network between local producers, agriculture and gastronomy. Osttirol de luxe thus makes regional cuisine tangible and puts the region and its products in the spotlight.
Attractive eye-catchers are the historic Biedermeier pavilions:
a fully equipped kitchen pavilion where you can watch the “who’s who” of the local culinary elite prepare their culinary delights on 4 m2. In addition, the “Bar de luxe” offers exquisite drinks, fine wines and excellent, award-winning local brandies.
The small, fine terrace directly next to the Liebburg is a meeting place for gourmets and offers a wonderful ambience with the Mediterranean flair of Lienz’s main square.
From the beginning of July to the end of August, the Lienz main square is thus transformed into the absolute “Piazza Gourmet”. East Tyrol’s award-winning kitchen virtuosos will spoil gourmets with their culinary delights. Top chefs from neighboring regions, from South Tyrol to Carinthia, Salzburg and Styria, will enrich the offerings of the “Culinary Summer Retreat 2022”. The concentrated chef elite of the longest gourmet festival in Austria unites no less than 32 “Gault-Millau Hauben” and “29 Falstaff Gabeln”.
Watch the 24 chefs of the Culinary Summer Freshness live cooking on all 51 days and enjoy the diversity of alpine cuisine.
Osttirol de luxe is committed to promoting young talent!
In order to counteract the dwindling enthusiasm for gastronomy and tourism and to inspire joy in young people for the craft of cooking, this year for the first time the Osttirol de luxe association is offering one-day taster internships as part of the “Culinary Summer Freshness”. Interested girls and boys can look the point cooks and – cooks one day long at the main place not only over the shoulder, but may also under professional guidance itself with to pack.
